"If you need anything more than someome to give you a plastic sleeve for your insurance papers, pick someone else. If you get in an accident, they will tell you to go online and report it to the police. In Texas, the police don’t take online accident reports other than hit and run. Get ahold of Lisa Reeds Office again and they will tell you to call 311. 311 is the phone version of online reporting. They don’t take accident reports and haven’t is long time (as explained by the lady at 311). It’s for reporting crimes ONLY (which a hit and run would be but wasn’t my situation). Ask Lisa Reeds office about your rental car coverage and they tell you that if you use that part of your policy, it will cost you your $500 deductible. 100% wrong. The deductible is ONLY if they repair your car. Call from your accident scene and they will tell you that YOU have to call the other persons (in the accident) insurance company and file your claim with them. 100% wrong. Confused about how Texas insurance works, call back again and ask “why would I do the claim work if I pay State Farm”, they will transfer you to the head person in their office and he will tell you the same thing. Still…100% wrong. Living in multiple states (and countries) I know this is not how insurance works, but being new to Texas, I think, “maybe things work backwards here”. Nope. It’s just poorly trained/educated, and/or just lazy people at this office. Friendly and polite in the office is probably what most of the positive reviews are about. The ONLY way I found out that insurance in Texas is the same as all other places (where they work for you) is that I finally had to tell a lady at Lisa Reeds office that I would happily pay the “$500 deductible” if it meant I can get a rental right away. I wasn’t going to wait the few days to a week that she told me I’d have to wait while the other guys insurance company decided to pay for it or not (which is 100% wrong) but only after I called his insurance to report the accident as she told me previously. Still 100% wrong. After getting ahold of Statefarm rental team, they were shocked that someone would tell me I had to go through the other persons insurance, that I had to contact their insurance company and that I had to pay my $500 deductible to use my rental coverage. The rental team lady is the ONLY way I got forwarded to the accident/claim team at State Farm. Then they were right on top of it. 3 calls from 3 different departments in the first few hours. Each one equally shocked at what I was told by Lisa Reeds office. No $500 deductible was payed (or needs to be payed) for anything other than if repairs are made on your vehicle. Not if you need towed. Not if your car ends up in a tow yard. Nothing. And definitely not if u want/need to use the rental coverage on your policy. I will definitely take my time to get ahold of Statefarm head office to report this local office, see if there is any kind of mandatory classes they need to take or if they can get their license to work for Statefarm suspended. What if I was an elderly person in an accident. Upset, confused, and I called the insurance company I had been with for years, possibly decades, and all I got was ALL wrong information and a polite “good luck”. I haven’t made an accident claim in over 30 years. That was in a different country and different company, and even I knew more than the people at this office. Even something as small as the quote for my monthly payment and what I am billed are different and they can’t tell me why. “I don’t know. That’s strange” isn’t an answer. Unfortunately this is an issue that has to be dealt with in a local office. I’ve been with this office for 1 month, and if I go back, it will only be to get my files transferred to a competent office. If I could remember the names of the desk lady I talked to the the head guy i talked to, I would 100% post them, but since I can’t (because I was just in a seriously decent size accident) I’ll have to put this on the name. Lisa Reed. There is no excuse for incompetent staff on this level"

"I had an auto claim recently with the end result it was a total loss. State Farm did a great job in being responsive & professional. On the couple of occasions I called either Anita or Andrew they took care of things promptly. One time after I spoke with Anita about needing to speak with an adjuster she called & within 5 minutes they called me. This is what good or I should say great customer service is about & when you get it let them know - it does mean a lot!"
